Rebuild Bahamas is under the umbrella of Our Joyful Heart Incorporated, a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization that is focused on helping our community in The Bahamas rebuild their lives from the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian.

Our motivation to help is personal; Our Co-founders Corlette DeVeaux and Shirelle TianVan are daughters of the soil.  They were born in the Bahamas.  They both have immediate family members who are suffering as a result of Dorian’s wrath.

“All A We, is one”, is a local term of endearment that is befitting this moment; when translated from the Bahamian vernacular it means, all of us are one.  “All of us” includes all of us, regardless of race, creed, color, social or economic background, family, friend or visitor…We are ONE!  That is how Bahamians treat others…They don’t have to know you personally, to invite you into their homes for a meal…They treat you like you're family!

Transparency and accountability are of paramount importance to Rebuild Bahamas.  We have identified and partnered with Church of God, Fairfield and Agape House, two organizations of high integrity and with deep roots in the community to handle the logistics, distribution, warehousing, governmental regulation compliance and record keeping.  This will ensure that building supplies and services will go immediately and directly into the hands of those who need it.
